Hello everyone and welcome to the Stephen King cast, one man's musings on the works of Stephen King.

Each week I will review one entry in the bibliography of Stephen King and the chronological order of publication.

And this week what I'm doing, I'm continuing examining my reviews and my thoughts on the televised works of Stephen King.

And right now I'm focusing on those 1990s ABC TV miniseries that really took Stephen King

and brought him into the 90s.

Because prior to that, he had a lot of access in the world of movies, you know, clearly with Carrie the Shining Christine Firestarter.

You know, there was just a, all of his works were popularized on the big screen.

But something happened on, with those ABC TV mini-series. It almost brought

like a new audience and a new way of looking at Stephen King, where his, his novels were adapted

a little bit more faithfully and a little bit more palatibly without the blood and the guts

due to the network censorship,

and just allowed for more people to be able to access Stephen King,

maybe in ways that he hadn't been able to have had access before.

And so last week what I did, I reviewed once again the classic Tim Curry starring ABC miniseries of It.

And this week what I am doing, I am reviewing the Mick Garris directed ABC TV miniseries of The Stand.

And one of the reasons why I'm doing this entire project

is to provide a public apology to Mick Garris

with this original review that I had done of the ABC miniseries of the stand.

I don't feel like I was as charitable as I could have been,

and I have apologized on the show in prior episodes,

but I was far more critical than I should have been when I reviewed the ABC TV miniseries of the stand.
