Welcome to 9 to 5 Mac Daily for Monday, February 16th, 2026. I'm your host, Chance Miller. We are sponsored this week by Stuff, the Clean and Powerful To-To-D list application.

Leading off today, FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson is asking Tim Cook directly to review Apple News's curation policies

0:23.9

after claims that the service suppresses conservative publications.

0:28.7

Last week, the conservative watchdog group Media Research Center published the results of a study

0:34.8

that alleged Apple had refrained from using any right-leaning outlets

0:38.6

in its Apple News Morning Editions between January 1st and January 31st.

0:44.5

1:24.6

deem unfair under the FTC Act.

1:33.1

As it stands right now, Apple has not publicly responded to Ferguson's letter or the MRC studies.

1:34.2

Whether or not there's any bearing to these claims remains to be seen, and we'll have to

1:38.5

wait to see if Apple makes any changes in response to know what they think.

1:42.8

Next up today, according to a new report from Bloomberg, Tesla is still working on adding

1:47.5

CarPlay integration to its cars. The automaker, however, reportedly hit a few hurdles

1:52.6

in this process that it had to ask Apple to fix. Bloomberg broke the news last November that

1:58.8

Tesla was working on CarPlay support and that the feature could launch in the coming months.

2:04.0

Tesla's plan is to integrate CarPlay as a window inside its broader interface.
