antibiotics that kills drug resistant bugs, a water pollution

test that can tell scientists where the pollution came from, and spiders that

collaborate. Ooh I don't like that one.

Researchers at Uppsala University in Sweden may have had a breakthrough in the fight against antibiotic

resistant bacteria.

This is an area we come back to fairly often because it's sort of... resistant bacteria.

Absolutely.

Some have called it a global crisis even.

And if you think about it, antibiotics

are a big part of the foundation of modern medicine.

Whether you're having surgery or getting stitched up

after an accident, infection is a common complicating factor. And a hundred years we've been able to fight

those infections and literally save millions upon millions of lives.

But the bacteria that causes all that infection is pretty clever. I yeah, that's one way to put it.

You know, it's interesting because when antibiotics exploded into the world,

we thought they were a miracle to some degree,

so we used them a lot.
