The error the DeSantis campaign has made is in assuming that every voter who votes

in the Republican primary is a Trump or non-Trump voter.

And the reason for that is the non-Trump voters, the never-Trumpers.

They overstate their numbers.

They think they represent the mass of society and they don't.

The problem is we don't caucus when we go around day-to-day.

So it's not like a sporting event where if you go to a Buffalo Bill's football game

and you're in the middle of what they call Bill's mafia, you know 99% of people in this

place are for the bills and if you're not wearing their colors and you're wearing the colors

of the others, you're going to feel it.

It's an experience, right?

You know that.

But if you're just walking around in a Walmart in Boise, Idaho, you wouldn't know who's

for what team?

Nobody's wearing anything.

So the never-Trumper lives in a world they're mostly insiders and they live in a world

where everybody around them hates Trump.

And some of those people around them are or were Republicans Bill Crystal, the Lincoln

Project guys, Jennifer Rubin.

And so in their mind, they're in this echo chamber of people who all hate Trump.

What they don't realize is how many of these people are actually Democrats.
