Hey everyone, welcome to the show. This is Rob Zervations. I am Rob Leifeld. I have been making comic books my thing for 34 years. I write them, I draw them, I ink them. I have worked for every major publisher. I was one of the gentlemen who was fortunate enough to start the label of Image Comics,

0:23.5

which brings you such great comics as Walking Dead and Saga and Savage Dragon. And I've been doing

0:32.8

this podcast thing. And I love that you guys listen to me. And I think we are in for a really fun show today.

0:40.1

I've been around the business. Again, consuming comics since I was seven years old, those spinner racks.

0:46.6

I've tried to recreate that spinner rack in my office. It has comic books on it that I bought from all

0:53.9

of the haunts that I frequented when I was a kid.

0:57.2

So when you see my spinner rack, and again, for those of you who are saying, what is

1:01.4

spinner rack? Spinner rack is a metal, basically series of shelves, four sides. Mine has

12 rungs, and they put magazines and they put comics on them,

1:13.0

and they were in every drugstore, market, grocery store, you know, mini market like 7-11,

1:20.6

stop and go, you towed them. And that's how I encountered comics. So since seven years old,

1:25.3

I've been pulling those off the spinner racks. I was

1:28.1

sad when they went to shelves in the mid-80s and then eventually gone from most outlets. But since seven,

1:37.9

you know, I have been consuming comic books. So we're looking at a at a 46 year romance and a 34 year career. So this is this is a

1:48.9

ton of fun. I love doing this and today we are going to have some fun with a great topic which

1:54.3

speaks to the networking of comic books, the networking of comic books. And I and I I've really

2:00.6

began to,

2:02.3

to understand how, how much deeper this network runs now that we have included the social media

2:08.6

component when you can virtually knock on anyone's door. And when I mean anyone, you can

2:13.5

attempt, I mean, you may not be successful, but you can attempt to send Tom Cruise a message.

2:18.0

Okay? You could tweet at him with an at. You can, you can, you know, try and DM him to see if his

2:27.0

DMs are open or closed or if it's going to go to a, you know, a place where they are collected for him to see if he chooses to turn that on
