So really looking forward to resuming our study in the book of Nehemiah tonight.

We're going to take and tackle Lord willing two chapters.

Chapters five and six.

It's been three weeks since we were in Nehemiah.

So it would probably be a good thing if I did a real quick recap of what's happened up to this point and kind of give

you the back story so we could hit the ground running. Three weeks ago we finished chapter four,

interesting chapter. It actually ties in the chapters five and six tonight and the reason being is that, really, chapters 4 through 6

are great go-to chapters when it comes to identifying the tactics of the enemy.

The enemy is always all about trying to seek to devour and destroy us. And we see that

play out here with Nehemiah and how the enemy uses these guys as opposition. Whenever God calls

you to a work, whenever God has you do anything to further

his kingdom, you've got to know that the enemy is going to be right there to do everything and

anything. And the devices of the enemy are such that the Apostle Paul would say to the Corinthian Church,

don't be ignorant of the devil's devices.

The devil is very cunning.

He is very clever, for lack of a better word,

and we're going to see really how he tries to destroy and derail the work of God.

In chapter four, we saw a couple of the ways the enemy uses, and one of them is mocking.

He uses mocking and ridicule, and we even saw that the enemy will resort to threats of force and violence.

Again, he'll stop it.

Nothing to try to discourage God's people when it comes to the work of God

and the calling that God has on our lives.
