my friends. I want you to open your Bibles once again tonight to the book of Nehemiah.

This would be our last time, at least for a while, to look at the book of Nehemiah.

Nehemiah tonight, if you would, chapter number 13.

We'll be looking at verses 15 through the end of the chapter, so find your place there.

And to look, if you would, at verse 15, remember that Nehemiah is confronting the people in three different areas.

He's confronting them about their worship. Remember, we talked

about that this morning? How that they had allowed Tobiah to live in the storeroom where the tithes

were to be kept? How that the Levites weren't even doing their jobs and had gone back to the

Levitical cities and were allowed to work a little portion of land

outside the Levitical cities. Just a bad, just a bad state of affairs when they weren't

giving attention to worship. Remember the template that I offered this morning, what Nehemiah did,

how that Nehemiah recognized the compromise, and how difficult that is

sometimes to recognize compromise, to recognize how things are slipping, and then to do something

about it, to respond to that compromise. His response was to reprimand the leadership, because that's where the

problem typically lies in the leadership. And so he dealt first with the leadership and then established

the infrastructure again. Remember how he removed the wrong and put the right things back in.
