The first series we did on this podcast was on Matthew. A bunch of you were there for it.

Thank you. It's awesome to have you around still. It was a blast because Jesus is in it and it took us forever to get through his 800 episodes long.

I loved doing that and we'll do another gospel someday. That'll be fun.

But one of the things I love about it is you get to hang around with Jesus not just because he's

held out as being God in the flesh and the son of God.

All that stuff's pretty great.

But also, he's just so dang witty.

He's smart.

He always knows what to say.

I don't think Jesus ever walked away from a conversation and then half an hour later

it was like oh I should have said this because I do that all the time but

now Jesus seemed like he always got his money's worth and did so very efficiently

saying a lot with very little and a key example of this is a turn of a phrase he

uses a couple times in Matthew 26 where with just a few little words, you have said it is so, or you have said so.

He tells an antagonistic person two things and once.

One, the thing you are saying that you don't fully understand that is profound and important is indeed true.

Two, I see that you're being duplicitous. It's just absolutely brilliant and yes I'm going

to give you those two examples and it's going to make sense.

We're talking about Nehemiah here in just a minute.

So one is at the Last Supper, you got Judas skulking about, and Jesus have said, I'm going to be betrayed
