Hey everybody. It's Glenn Thresh with Politico's Off Message podcast.

Focus a little bit on Hillary Clinton. You know, we've been spending so much time talking about Donald Trump. He sucks up all the oxygen in the room.

And just at this point in time, it seems a hell of a lot more likely

that Hillary Clinton is going to be president in the United States and Donald Trump. So it seems

kind of foolish not to pay attention to who she is as an actual character. And I've covered

her, as I have said, ad nauseum going on 15 years. And I've gotten to know a lot of her people

and had my ups and downs with every single

one of them. I mean, there's almost nobody in Clinton's inner orbit that I haven't had a knock

down, dragout fight with, and a reconciliation. And right now, my relationships are in various

stages of positive and negative. A lot of heavens, a lot of hells.

But in general, I have found the Clinton camp to be engaging.

And I don't mean that sort of in the sense of that they're all kind of fun to be around.

I just find that they tend to engage.

They like to explain themselves.

And the other characteristic that they all seem to have is a real curiosity about the woman that they work for.

One of the really interesting characteristics of all the people in Clinton's orbit, Hillary Clinton's orbit, is they don't really get her.

I've never come across anybody who has worked with her for a long period of time,

who has a complete full picture of who the woman is. That isn't to say that they don't really

understand various aspects of her personality. She's incredibly diligent. She studies a lot. She's a

sharp sense of humor. But she is just somebody who has walled off areas of her

personality. And I think that dovetails with a lot of the problems that she's faced, both in

terms of popularity with voters and also doing things to propagate greater secrecy and less
