Ned Johnson is very much alive, but not according to the Social Security Administration,

so the 82-year-old from Seattle and his wife, Pam, have to prove it. It hasn't been easy. The agency is going

through staffing chaos. We'll hear their story in a minute, but first, let's get you caught up.

The leaders of PBS and NPR will testify before Congress this morning.

They've been called by the Doge subcommittee, led by Republican Marjorie Taylor Green.

NPR CEO Catherine Marr is expected to be grilled about what some Congress members believe is liberal bias at the organization,

and whether NPR and PBS should continue to get

funding from the federal government. This year, several Republican members of Congress introduced

bills to eliminate that funding. Today's hearing begins at 7 a.m. It'll be streamed live by

PBS and C-SPAN. King County Executive Dow Constantine will give his final state of the county address this

afternoon. Constantine has led King County since 2009. He's not seeking re-election this year, but he may

already have a new job. This week, Constantine was announced as the top candidate to become the next

CEO of Sound Transit. His address is at one o'clock this

afternoon. It will stream live on King County TV. And the Seattle Public Library's
