So I guess, you know, we'll just kind of jump right in and maybe ask you about your background.

How did you get into the psychedelic world?

Well, the background's actually a little convoluted.

Most backgrounds are convoluted, actually, with professional backgrounds.

You know, my master's degree is actually in counseling psychology.

And to get that master's, we were trained not just in psychological counseling,

which was my specialty, but also what they called agency counseling,

which was occupational or educational counseling as well. So I learned a little

bit about occupational counseling. One of the things I learned was that people go through, I think,

was an average of three and a half careers in their lifetime, not just job changes, but actual

changes in career. And that's been the case with me. So as far as my background is concerned,

I already mentioned, you know, I had that counseling

master's. And then I got interested in, for a variety of reasons, got interested in the

impact of organizations and policy and the role of research in finding out the best of what is known.

And then, you know, so I went to a research program, really, at the doctoral level.
