The NCAA quickly fixed the loophole Oregon took advantage of this past week by saying that

if the 12th man participates in the play the offense can choose to

reset the clock as well as take the five-yard penalty. If the 12th player

defensively is running off the field and does not participate in the play,

the option for the clock reset won't be available.

It's the perfect fix for the loophole. But one has to ask, if it was so easy to fix this rule quickly,

just like the Kenny Pickett fake side rule,

then why is it taking so long to fix the fake injury problem?

Because there is a viable solution.

Make the injured player set out the rest of the driver

until the offense gets another first down.

Why can we fix the 12-man penalty,

but then not fix men playing in women's sports. That fix is the easiest one of all.

Just ban it. And if the loophole had been taken advantage of and say the Marshall

Georgia Southern game, would it have been fixed this quickly?

I don't know the answer to that one.

But I do know it seems that NCAA has the same problem
