Donald Trump's criminal defense team filed its reply to special counsel Jack Smith's request

that the United States Supreme Court decide whether the disgraced former president is entitled to presidential immunity

in his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

The Special Counsel and Donald Trump have already filed briefs on the same issue with the DC

Appeals Court but Jack Smith is pushing the Supreme Court to get involved now and

make a final decision on the issue so that the case against Trump can

proceed as scheduled. Trump's team claims that Special Counsel Jack Smith's

argument quote, urges the Supreme Court to bypass ordinary procedures and rush to decide the issues with reckless

abandon."

But without argument, the bigger story tonight remains the stunning legal bomb dropped just over 24 hours ago by the Colorado

Supreme Court declaring Donald Trump ineligible to be on that state's ballot.
