Good morning, late morning on Saturday. We are streaming today live. We're going to do a show on

NBC's recent piece on Christian nationalism, came out I think a day ago two days ago is

very recent I think I watched it part of it yesterday I did not watch the whole

thing we might watch the whole thing. We might just skip around a

little bit, but it was interesting to me because it shows us what the not just

political opponents of Christianity, but I would say those who are more secular

atheistic secular-minded anti anti-Christian, what they think of conservative Orthodox believers and

Christian nationalism is the new kind of bogeyman term they're using. But I think this segment shows us really what they mean by that. They think of it as

theocracy and anything that would have influence in society from a Christian perspective

gets categorized as theocratic or Christian Nationalist.

So one of the reasons I wanted to do this

was because someone texted me last night

and asked me about Christian nationalism, just kind of out of the blue

what is Christian nationalism John and I said well you know about a hundred years ago it would have been

Fabian socialism for Americans because Americans didn't like

socialism, they associated it with atheism, they associated it with immoral behavior,

and so people who wanted to bring Fabian socialism, otherwise known as

progressives to the United States, some of them at least thought marketing it as

a Christian thing would, and a patriotic thing in some senses, would actually make it more

popular.

So they marketed it as Christian nationalism.
