Well, to the conversations that matter of podcast. I'm your host John Harris today to talk about LGBTQ Christianity.

0:17.0

Gay affirming Christianity, same sex attraction, whatever label you want to use, There are a bundle of teachings making their way into

0:25.2

churches near you that threaten Orthodox teaching on gender and sexuality. And beyond that, they

0:32.4

actually threaten our Christology our pneumatology and sometimes I would say our doctrine of salvation our soteriology and so I want to talk about this particular movement using two clips that are from some

0:49.2

evangelical elites. They're very short. They were sent to me this week. One is from 2019. One is from

0:55.7

very recently I would assume because it was recently posted on YouTube. And these particular

1:00.5

clips are I think good examples of the popular level teaching

1:07.1

these arguments or these these particular tactics are verbalized probably better than in a lot of the other

1:48.6

material that we've examined on this particular podcast and so it's a good opportunity. When we examine material, we want

1:54.9

to examine, if possible, the best examples of the opponent's arguments or tactics. We

2:02.0

don't want to try to get the worst possible

2:06.2

articulations from the other side and then knock them down like

2:10.3

they're straw men. We don't want to do that. That's unfortunately something I see the left do an awful lot. They want to

2:17.5

miscategorize, misunderstand, purposefully in order to make their agenda work. So they throw spurious

2:26.1

accusations often at theological conservatives by misrepresenting their

2:30.3

positions and that's not something we want to do. We want to take the best
