And today, we're going to have a conversation about how to handle those tricky family situations.

You know the ones. You're in Scientology, or at least you were, you were part of the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Maybe you were a Mormon. And now here you've got

Thanksgiving coming up this week, Christmas in the not too far distant future, and you're going

to be sitting with family, maybe friends, people who are still in the faith and you're out,

maybe you're in and they're out. So let's have a conversation today about how to handle those

tricky situations.

And Teresa, I'm going to run us through 10 ideas that we've come up with on how to create some boundaries for ourselves, for others, ways that we want to show up, things that we need to

think about and sort of plot out before we just show up at these events. And these are the ideas

that are going to help us to encounter these moments that are going to happen. We hear about them

every year where people are sitting at the Thanksgiving dinner and grandma or Uncle Tom can't bite their tongue and they decide to say something that completely counters how we're different than them and the fact that we've left a religion and they're still in.

And these conversations can get tricky.

And there are things that are said that often create distance in relationships or frustration or

anger. And I think it's important that we go over these things because this will save a lot of

heartache and headaches for people who are getting ready to go to an event where there is

believing and non-believing family there.

And people are going to say things.

People are going to share things.

And this is a chance to be prepared to avoid that.
