He wasn't long before they abandoned her entirely and sent her to live with her paternal grandmother.

Krista to be left crawling around through piles of dog poop which hadn't been cleaned up.

And what's more, when she began experiencing seizures while still an infant, neither parent

appeared to show much concern, possibly because they were too busy arguing with one another.

Still, for as bad as it was, Krista's grandmother had managed to rescue her from the situation.

Or at least that was the case until she passed away in 1988, when the young girl was still only 12 years old.

And that was a particularly impactful moment for her because not only was that the person who had rescued her from a bad home life now leaving her behind, but it was also the only person who she believed had ever loved her.

Her mother certainly didn't love her as far as Christa saw it, and that became evident when, after being forced to move back into her parents' home, she was returned to a life of neglect and abuse, both mentally and physically.
