NATO. The next summit is in Washington in July.

Before then, there are decisions to be made by the member countries about

the next Secretary General. Mark Rutti's bid to lead NATO faces a fresh hurdle, reports

Bloomberg.

With some Eastern European nations, Mark Rudy is the Netherlands, some Eastern European

nations pressing the Dutch Prime Minister for increased representation for the region among the military

alliances top-level positions.

Translation, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Turkey are not certain they want to continue with the Western European

nations leading NATO given the risk that is Russia on the Ukraine front. I welcome

Antonio Kalabashano of Geopolitical futures. She's in Bucharest, in

other words the eastern wing of NATO. And I mention that a possible candidate for the Secretary General ship of NATO is mentioned by several

voices, but most importantly, the Dutch prime minister is looking for another candidate

from the eastern wing and the president of Romania is mentioned

Closs Ionis what is significant here is that Romania is a state, NATO state, EU state that is on

the Danube facing Odessa province. It's one of the ambitions of Russia. In other words, this is

front line, front line, as much as Poland, as much as the Baltics.

Antonio, a very good day to you. The important detail here is not who is the next Secretary General, it's

what's to be done with Ukraine immediately. The U.S. Congress is still hesitating and

as far as I know will continue to hesitate until the candidate

Trump says yay or nay on NATO on the ambition to resupply Ukraine.
