This is hell.

This is hell. is possible. This is hell and earlier this month we saw what another end of the

world could look like with the derailment of a train carrying toxic chemicals and spilling those toxins into the

ground, the water, and spewing them into the air surrounding East Palestine, Ohio and possibly

for hundreds of miles surrounding the area, if not thousands.

We have no idea. As we said yesterday, Cincinnati and Louisville's water systems are on high alert

as the chemicals go down the Ohio River that the East Palestine explosion poisoned.

During that conversation with the New Republic's Prem Thacker, we discussed what the derailment

means in the bigger picture for the East Palestine community and the history

of derailments in the United States.

We also touched on what it means for those who erroneously believed a government should be run

like a business and the dangers that entails for not only workers but the

public as well. Today we're continuing that conversation by considering a possible long-term

solution for addressing what is quickly becoming a railway crisis.
