Okay, welcome to the Eric Mataxas show. Eric is in disposal at the moment. I'm afraid he's been having GI problems in uncomfortable bloating, but I'm sure he'll be out in a gift.

0:19.0

Oh, here he is now. Looking pale and shaken. Oh, you okay little buddy? The Eric Mataxas show.

0:25.0

Hey, thanks for sharing Todd. You're fired. Folks, there are times in life when you can't help but get excited. I have somebody on the line that I like to think of as Tim Teebo.

0:37.0

You've probably heard of Tim Teebo. He's a Heisman winning football player. And to me, even though he's a lot younger than I am, he's a hero for his courage, for his voice speaking out for faith, for the weakest among us in this culture.

0:53.0

I'm thrilled to have him on the phone. Tim Teebo, welcome to this program. What's up, Eric? How you doing? I'm doing all right. You know, you're not as physically impressive over the phone. In person, you are very physically impressive on the phone. You just seem normal.

1:09.0

Isn't that stupid? You never seen normal, Eric. All right. You're always impressive. Well, you are just so sweet. That's another reason I love you. Listen, you've got a new book out called This Is The Day.

1:21.0

Reclaim your dream, ignite your passion, live your purpose. It is brand new by you, Tim Teebo. And I got to say Tim, honestly, I don't say this very often. But whatever you've got to say, I am interested in because you have lived the life on the public stage in a way that I think is just so wonderful.

1:42.0

And I want I want to know your story and what you have to say. And I know that's what's in this book. But tell us beyond that, what is in this book? What made you decide you want to write a book?

1:53.0

Well, honestly, it was quite a few things. One of them, my dad getting diagnosed with Parkinson's, you know, in a few events where people suddenly passed away.

2:03.0

And just around a lot of events that I felt really encouraged to write this book about how life is about this day. It's not about one day. And I was around so many other people that were waiting to do to live out their dream till they retired till they save enough money or so they do all these different things.

2:24.0

And you just don't know how much time you have. And you don't know what's the next day holds. And I wanted to encourage people that, you know, living life isn't about one day. It's about this day. It's not about, you know, the being able to one day do this.

2:43.0

It's not around so many people that one day they were going to go on a mission trip. One day they're going to tell their parents they love them. One day they're going to get right with God. One day they were going to do something that mattered. And I was just so encouraged to certain extent sometimes frustrated about, hey, guys, it's not about one day. It's about this day.

3:00.0

You don't have to have a, you don't have to wait to have a life that matters. You don't have to wait to have a life of significance of impact or meaning. And so I wanted to write this book because it hopefully it relates to a lot of different people going through a lot of different things in life.

3:14.0

But this is the day where we can tell the people around us. We love it. I love it. We can help someone to need this is the day we can find someone on the corner of the street and encourage them to lift them up to tell them God loves them have to plan for their life.

3:27.0

And we don't have to wait till one day that can start on this day. And I went to encourage people that this is that moment and we can rise the occasion and imagine if we actually lived every day like that. And we didn't just put it on our hashtags on Instagram.

3:42.0

And a lot of people don't think that's possible, but I'm here to affirm your message. It is not only possible. It is God's command and God does not command us to do things that are not possible. They might be impossible without him. But guess what? He wants to help us. And I think that, you know, this is the day, which is the title of the book. Of course, that's a scripture verse. A lot of people maybe listening don't know that. But there's that wonderful verse. This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

4:11.0

What a crazy idea to suddenly think God made this day. Let's rejoice and be glad in it. A lot of times we do think like I can't do that yet. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. And you think, wait a minute. What are you waiting for? God wants you to be to live as though he is alive and with you and guiding you right now. And I just think what do you say to somebody who says like, you know, I just don't know if that's possible for me. I just don't know if I'm going to be able to do that.

4:41.0

I don't know if it's if it's something I'm ready to do.

4:45.0

Well, you know what? Even if sometimes when we're not ready for it, I feel like I can still put it on our lap. You know, one of the reason one of the inspirations for the title of this book was I was out and playing baseball. And it was the early morning. We were at a gym training. And I was so frustrated because I could literally couldn't get in step. I took like 25 pictures of people. I was trying to train at this gym. And I couldn't.

5:09.0

Anyways, I leave early. Couple of my teammates. We walk across the street that public and I go to get, you know, a protein drink or something as a snack. And I see a boy with special needs.

5:21.0

A teenage boy walking with his mom. And so through our work with night to shine, which is a worldwide prompt for people with special needs. And I have a heart for people special needs. I was like, maybe I'll walk by him and maybe recognize me and I can encourage him or take a picture with him. And anyways, I walk by.

5:38.0

I didn't recognize whatsoever. But anyways, I go to the checkout line and they happen to be right in front of me. And so a lot of the public fast them up to me. And I take a few pictures with them. And then the mom turns around to me. And she said, excuse me, what's your name? And I said, Tim, and she said, what's your last name? She said, I like to see you. And.
