Welcome on to what is normally one of my favorite podcasts of the year, but unfortunately may not be so.

This is now two of the last three years that, at least my personal over under performance has been quite poor after, I think I had

been over 500 for seven years or a row before that and I was at I think I was 20 and 10 last year so this is why I don't bet actual money on anything related to the NBA and I guess we can begin Danny with our discussion of the Atlanta Hawks as we look back on our

over under picks and figure out what went wrong or what went right.

The Hawks over under was set at 42 and a half wins. They had been that, I can't

remember if that was last year or two years ago that where they were hovered around 500 basically

the entire season. That was last year where they not only hovered around 500, basically the entire season. That was last year, where they not only hovered around 500 the entire season,

not only finished with 41 wins, but alternated wins and losses to where they never were more than

a game over or under 500 for like a two month

period so their over under was 42 and a half. And and the Atlanta Hawks went under that.

You and I both picked their over thinking, you know, Trey Young, they have the offensive

foundation to get there.

They finished top 10 in offense each of the prior three years, but whether the defense would be there. And part of this I think is player availability. You know, Trey missed more time than I would have expected. And part of it for me was just the Hawks being a little bit worse than I expected.

Yeah, you can't really point to trade because they actually are above 500 without him.

That's true. I mean they were slated to go way under this now.

Of course, any team that is still trying after the All-Star break, we've seen this, John wrote

about it recently.

If you're still trying, you're going to go over 500 after the all-star break unless you're the Brooklyn Nets.

So, because there are just so many teams that have non-invia items out there but the Hawks just you know the

defense was worse than we thought it would be I think that was something that was

kind of priced in but it was the fact that they didn't really have a top five
