Welcome to the Eric Mataxis show.

We have an exciting show today, but we've also got some sad news. We heard not long ago that our friend Ravi Zacharias has passed away. Most of us knew in the last couple of weeks who followed his career

that he was very ill and expected not to live. Some of us have been praying for him, but early this

morning he went to be with the Lord. And I just have to say, and Albin, I know you agree with me,

that it's a complex thing when something

like this happens, when someone we care about dies, right, passes away. Because in his case,

we know where he is. Now, that's, some people maybe wouldn't understand that or think it somehow arrogant that we would

say that we know where he is.

But everything I know tells me that for sure he's in the presence of Jesus and that he's in

paradise and that where he is could never, ever be better. It's the most glorious

thing imaginable. And nonetheless, we mourn. And the question is, why do we mourn? And I say that we mourn

because we're still here. We mourn because we miss him. We mourn because we're not yet where he is. And I think that, so those of us who

believe in the hope of heaven and believe that Jesus opened the door for us to come to heaven
