Summary
Ron later discusses how he was in Columbia covering the narcotics problem when he met a Colombian woman and married her. this commenced a life long study of Columbia, narco-traffickers
and the Colombian government. When he first started, he was warned to not go outside of Bogota and today, Ron reports that the former drug capitol of Medellin is now a preferred place for North Americans to visit and even live out their retirement. The listener learns about the inside workings of the Cali Cartel and how they quietly became the most successful drug organization after Pablo Escobar was killed. Ron tells of his first hand experiences and stories about the same events depicted in the recently released Netflix series Narcos, Season Three.
