Summary

It's a good thing this tour is spending 3 full days in Kirtland! I began with a tour of historic Kirtland at the Whitney store and home, ending at the sawmill and ashery. After that it was on to the temple to make an appointment for the basement to belfry tour. Then on to Hiram, OH wherein lies the John and Elsa Johnson farm. The rainy day made it so nobody else was on these tours so I took full opportunity to engage with all the missionaries and hear a number of touching personal stories.

Today was a very big day.

0:13.0

I'm sitting in my car right now because I don't want to disturb anybody that's sleeping in the house.

0:18.7

And the only reason that I'm recording this right now before, like right before I go to

0:23.1

sleep is I just posted all the photos from my day number one in Kirtland.

0:27.7

And there's so much that happened.

0:29.6

I don't, I just want to get it all out before I forget it, before I go through tomorrow and

0:34.2

experience tomorrow and then forget some of the things that happened today.

0:37.8

So here I am sitting out, staring at the house where I'm staying at 1130 at night, sitting

0:44.5

in my car recording this and I'm just, there's so much running through my head right now.

0:49.1

I'll just kind of, I'll just take, take through the day. I, I can't even speak straight. That's my

0:57.4

problem. So I began the day early, bright and early, and I was helping the people who I'm

1:04.6

staying with clean parts of historic curtland. They have certain assignments here and we just went around and

1:12.6

cleaned them for the various tours that would be going through today. And so it was a great

1:19.1

opportunity to kind of, you know, spend a little bit of time there without tour groups rushing

1:24.5

through and trying to get pictures without people crowding them and stuff.

1:28.2

And it was just a really great opportunity to just kind of experience the visitor center

1:33.4

and the store and all kinds of other things, just kind of tooling around, enjoying my time

1:39.3

there without having to worry about other people.

1:42.0

So after breakfast, then I just went on the historic Curtland tour, which begins at the

1:48.7

visitor center, and we got a tour from a fantastic elder missionary couple there, and they

1:56.6

did a great job.
