It's one of the best interview and conversation podcasts out there, intellectually rigorous and never predictable.

Whether he's exploring the roots of the war in Ukraine or presenting deep philosophical conversations about climate change,

Ezra always engages his guests in ways that make me feel more knowledgeable about the world.

He also frequently speaks to authors, and given that you're listening to the Book Review podcast,

it seemed a natural fit to present one of those conversations for you all.

Recently, he spoke with science fiction and fantasy novelist Nora K. Jemisin, N. K. Jemisin.

She's the great writer behind the Broken Earth trilogy, the Inheritance trilogy, and this month's The World We Make,

a sequel to her 2020 book The City We Became.

It's a great conversation, and I think you're going to enjoy it.

Nora K. Jemisin is one of the most highly decorated writers in fantasy and science fiction today.

Her Broken Earth trilogy won three consecutive Hugo Awards, pretty much the highest honor in science fiction writing.

First time anybody had ever done that.

She has since won two more Hugo Awards, including for a recent Green Lantern series, Far Sector.

It's got to be a heavy shelf in her house.

I'm a huge fan of these books.
