When Adam Savage first began his career building special effects models for films like Star Wars

Episode 2 and The Matrix Reloaded, he never would have dreamt that he would one day step

in front of the camera to host his own hit television series, become a leading science

communicator and the poster boy for a whole new generation of makers and builders.

After all, he's still just having fun doing what he loves, making cool stuff and blowing

it up whether it's on his hit discovery channel series Mythbusters or his spin-off for young

people Mythbusters Jr.

Now the man who makes the impossible possible is stepping it up a notch, building and

testing some of the most over-the-top contraptions from fiction, history and the movies for

his new series Savage Builds.

And today Adam Savage comes on the show to share how he managed to build a working prototype

of Marvel's Iron Man suit, how he nearly bankrupted the Bay Area's most prestigious 3D printing

lab in the process and what it was like to fly around with tiny jet engines strapped

to his arms.

He discusses how Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson helped him take to the skies in a

real-life World War I dogfight, why his attempt to recreate one of World War II's most
