The UN warns of a deadly freefall into even greater violence by Myanmar's military and calls

on the world to stop supplying them with weapons. The company that operated the submersible that

Myanmar is being ravaged by military attacks on its villages and people.

That's according to the United Nations, which said that civilians are in dire peril since the

coup more than two years ago. The UN Special Rapporteur on Myanmar, Tom Andrews,

said that more than 800 children had been killed since 2021 and that air strikes had doubled over

the past year. He added that the junta had managed to get hold of weapons worth $1 billion.

Mr Andrews urged the International Community to act.

Number one, stop the flow of weapons into the hands of the hunter and stop the flow of money

flowing into the pockets of the hunter. This is a very large military that this hunter controls.

And that is their strength as far as the hunter is concerned. But it's also a vulnerability.
