the I Am Studios. And I want to quickly get into today's episode. Not only am I excited, but we got a ton of ground to cover.

I was doing research combing through lists of all the fun, fantastical, far-reaching creations

to come out of LA.

And I'm going to dive into my list of the top 10 things invented in Los Angeles. Let's get into it.

I want to start out with something that frankly we wouldn't be here without.

It's probably the most important invention of modern times, the internet. That's right. The origins of the

internet are rooted in the USA the 1950s. All right? The Cold War was at its

height Russia and US, head to head, big talk, big bravado, big missiles.

Huge tensions existed between North America and the Soviet Union.

Both superpowers were in possession of deadly nuclear weapons

and people lived in fear of these long-range surprise attacks.

So the US government realized that it needed a communication system that could not be affected by a nuclear attack.

Now at this time, 1950s again, computers were large.
