This is a different one for me today called Why I Don't Buy Anything anymore.

0:17.2

I've got to tell you, in the last I would say, maybe two years could even be longer, but let's just say two years.

0:26.4

I have really not purchased much, with the exception of replacements, right?

0:32.6

So if I need a new bra or if I need a new lip gloss or if I need a new pair of sneakers because, you know,

0:37.9

they've run out or they've fallen apart. I need a replacement item. I have purchased very little.

0:47.2

And this is interesting because my husband's love language is gifts and he loves to buy things

1:28.4

a lovely piece of jewelry, anything, that's enough. I don't need it in my house. I don't need to

1:35.8

possess it. And I have to tell you, it's almost weird and isolating because very few people

1:40.4

can relate to this. But I've got to tell you, this is my non-consumer era. And something in

1:46.0

me tells me this is it. This is here to stay. Yeah, the exception is books. I buy books.

1:53.0

Can they be an exception? So here is what, you know, I've been thinking about this, because I've

1:57.9

mentioned it to a couple of friends and they're like, wow, really? You don't want to buy stuff?

2:03.2

And the reality is this, okay?

2:07.8

I value experiences over stuff, right?
