Well, hello and welcome back to another episode of Kindled. I am excited to bring you a conversation

that I recorded with my husband, Joey. He's been on Kindled a few times now. But if you follow me on

Instagram at hailey.kindled, then you probably already know what this is about. I've been reading a book

called Dumbing Us Down by John

Taylor Gatto and I shared with Joey some of the things I was learning from that book and it

just prompted a really interesting conversation. And as we were having the conversation,

I thought, man, I would love to share this with my audience because I think so many people

could probably relate and maybe even have some similar

light bulb moments that I did. And, you know, before I hit play, I'll also say that I think, you know,

I've shared on this podcast in the past. I've done episodes on homeschool, on private school,

on public school,

and I do believe that God can absolutely convict different families to do different things

in any one of those capacities. So I want to say that as a caveat up front. I don't think that

homeschool is necessarily right for every family or every situation. However, this is kind of more of a

this is a conversation around are we actually serving children who do choose public school

in the way that it is set up in the model that has been implemented that has existed as long as

it's been in place. It's really more of that conversation. It's not so much about, you know,

everyone has to do homeschool, but really just being honest about the negative aspects of

systemized education and what happens when we expect a bunch of people to be able to be held

to the exact same style of learning at the same pace in the same way with all the same curriculum

and really very little to zero deviation from that. So I think that anyone could find this fascinating or

interesting even if your kids are in public school. And you'll also hear in the conversation that
