Hi, Dr. Laura. How are you?

Good. What's up?

I'm super nervous to bear with me.

I was hoping that you could help me with my dilemma today. It's about my fiance or possibly X fiance and I.

We were supposed to be getting married in about six weeks and he decided that he wanted to postpone or I guess we we called off the wedding.

So I was going to be going to the wedding. Um, and I just got invited by the explanation he gave you is what I left that out.

Um, well, so the explanation he gave me, I kind of felt like he came up with all these excuses, but it was basically that I was messier than him and I was not doing my chores around the house and that he felt unvalued and unheard.

Um, and that also aside not really the strut it broke the camel's back is he had gone on a trip, a quote unquote work trip for this kind of side business that he has has a lot to do with parting.

And he was gone on this trip for a week and I saw kind of blasted all over social media like all this drinking and all these girls and just all this stuff and I got really upset about it. And I said, you know, where are we kind of going here.

What are the priorities here because it made me feel really uncomfortable like seeing all this all over the internet and he just really didn't care that it hurt my feelings.

And then he said, you know, maybe we should postpone the wedding because in the past year, living with you, I felt like, you know, I just haven't been happy because, you know, my opinions don't don't matter. I feel unvalued on her, you know, do the chores like something like that.

Even though our house is falling. So I'm a little confused and sad and I feel like I don't know if I overreacted and that was, you know, I'm sorry.

I would have expected based on what you said, I would have expected a totally different response from you.

Based upon the bargaining, the drinking, the cavalierness, the postponing it, all the complaints that you be done on your knees going, thank you Lord, I dodged a bullet.

And I'm trying to understand why you would want to imagine 60 more years with this.

You have the, we have the backwards reaction, dear. You should be grateful.

Grateful for him like canceling the wedding.

Absolutely.

You wouldn't have had the courage to do it.

Yeah, I just feel like we had such a good relationship and then he started missing everything I was doing when I first lived out like it.
