It is always a special privilege for us to be invited to do Calvary Chapples and we're just amazed at how this movement continues to Burgeon.

Lars and I were in Hungary several years ago

and found that there was a Calvary chapel

in a little town where we were there.

So I realized that there are hundreds, and this is one of them.

My topic is, I think you already know,

abiding in Christ. I've chosen as my title. I wasn't sure whether there was going to be an overall title or not.

But my father is the gardener. I love to think about the message that Jesus gave to his disciples in John 15.

And that's what he said. My father is the gardener. And I can say the same thing. My heavenly

father is the gardener. So let's just read from John 15 versus one to four.

I am the true vine and my father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit,

while every branch that does bear fruit, he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean

because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself. It must remain in the vine.

Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

A.W. Tozer said this, the Bible is more than a volume of either two unknown facts about God, man, and the universe.

It is a book of exhortation based upon those facts.

By far the greater portion of the book is devoted to an urgent effort to persuade people to alter their ways and bring their lives into harmony with the will of God as set forth in its pages.
