My entitled mother demands that I hand over all my money that I just earned,

totaling to about $5,000, claiming that money as my rent and meals,

and I simply don't know what to do.

So I have been working over the summer to earn some cash for school next year,

and I made about $5,000 in total after taxes, and I was so excited to start my new school year.

Then one week before school started,

my entitled mother comes over to me and asks me if I can give her all of my money,

all $5,000.

Now for some context, I did owe my mom some money, and I had every intention of paying her back.

Out of the $5,000, I spent about $1,200 on a new computer,

and so while it was sad to see half of my check basically gone nearly,

I knew the consequences, but I did not owe her thousands of dollars.

At most, I owed her about $1,400,

so I still had a lot of money left over that was meant for me,

but my mom came to me and said,

I need the rest of the money too.

When I objected and said, wait, why is that?

She said,

You need to learn the importance of saving money.

That's what I asked her, um, why do you need the rest of my money?

And what she said next really blew my mind, because she said,

Well, because it won't be safe with you having access to so much money.
