makes a difference. And we connected about two and a half years ago. We did. And we were, I think

we was doing a panel. We were. And I was just so blown away by what you said. And I'm a

young leader at the start of my journey. And I was like, I'm going to make a note. And then we had a few

comms afterwards. I was like, once all this pandemic stuff sorts out, I'm going to make sure we can

get a proper cup of tea and we can do a we can do this podcast and it's happened today

well thank you for asking me you're welcome so we start here so there's a lot of young people

tuning in from all walks of life and we call it stage not age they'll be at different stages of

their life some will be looking for their first time jobs some of them will be wanting to

change jobs or go from retail

into football or into tech or into financial services. So they'll all be at the different

stages of their life. But they're here today because they want to learn from yourself on how to

flip the duvet, what advice you've got for them. We're also tuning

on LinkedIn, so that goes across all of the business community, so we don't know who's going

to tune in, but that's exciting. So my first question is, what was your first job that paid you

your first bit of money, and what did you learn from that job that you wish to pass on to young people

starting out today gosh my first job was when I was in my teens working in the local corner shop

waters it was called in Newark in Nottinghamshire so serving behind a counter and I think probably the most

significant lesson was no matter what role you do, even whether you enjoy it, whether you don't enjoy it, there's always something to learn from it, that experience.
