This episode, unfortunately, is all about my Democrats.

It is all about my Democrats. And what a better way to start this episode than the quintessential, my Democrat. Yeah, guys, I'm still with her. I'm still with her. That's Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton, I don't know what the fuck she was doing, but she had some videos go viral recently. And she had something to say about Trump's mass deportation operation.

You know, being like my Democrat, I bet you can guess that this is really just for the moment,

something that cuts through, a sharp, a sniper with the messaging, if you will. Yeah, surely she's going to reframe the argument and the narrative in a way that benefits Democrats

and not the right wing.

Yep, rhetorical marksman.

Let's hear from the 2016 candidate herself, Hillary Clinton.

More people were deported under my husband and Barack Obama without killing American citizens and without putting children into

detention camps, then we're in the first Trump term or this first year of Trump's second term.

Were children not in detention camps also under Obama? Like, wasn't that a thing as well? I don't know

necessarily. People also died in detention under Obama. I was going to say that's the other thing. She has to say without American citizens died. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because plenty of people died in ICE detention before. Calls to abolish ICE are not new. Calls to abolish ICE aren't a new thing because Trump is out here literally having mass whatever's run through the street and kill American citizens and non-citizens alike. It's been a thing because ICE has been awful for a long, long time.

Yeah, and Obama was like the moniker he earned was Deporter in Chief. Yeah. Like a lot of people like to get out here and say, oh, why is no one protesting? Or why did nobody protest Obama, but now they're protesting Trump for the same thing. And it's like, no, people did protest Obama. Yeah. That shit sucked. Yeah. Like that shit notoriously was really bad and he was named.

He earned the moniker deporter in chief.

But also like, why do we keep capitulating with the narrative here? Why do we keep conceding on this idea that mass deportations are a good thing and that it's a thing that's necessary for the country to like be safe or something like that? I think it's a, it's another example of Democrats looking at polling. Polling is going to be a big thing this episode. You just wait until the end. But Democrats look at polling. They see that Trump still, Trump and Republicans still poll well when it comes to just like the border in general. But they don't pour poll well when it comes to the mass deportation effort. Right. So they're trying to carefully craft a position that weaves in between those two. They say, how can we capture those people that like what's going on with the border and the border rhetoric, but not, and also capture the people that don't like what's going out of mass deportations, how violent this is. And that's kind of where you have to arrive. You have to arrive at this whole Democrats are better at doing deportations than Trump less violently thing. You can't do it otherwise.

They're so allergic to the idea that maybe they have to go out and make a case for something new. They have to go out and make a case for something else. They just want to find the right words that will maximally appeal to the right amount of people. It's fucking robotic. It's insane. And like the narrative here is essentially that Trump's mass deportation policy

would be fine if it weren't for Alex Prudy and Renee Nicole Good. Yeah. Like everything else would be

perfectly fine, but they got two people killed, two Americans killed, to be clear. Um, so now that's why

I'm coming out against it. And it was just so notably not fine beforehand. It was so noticeably not

fine until like that happened. Like everything that was going on from like what May, June of last year has been insane. Yeah. People have been incredibly upset about it. People have been protesting all the time everywhere, not just in blue cities, in red states as well. Yeah. In Texas, in Florida, in Tennessee, everywhere where ICE is, people are mad because everywhere ICE is, ICE is doing awful things. And it's not, it's a feature, not a bug. Yeah, there's just, there's no reason to concede like this. And we'll talk about democratic consensus. A lot of this episode, man, but just, I cannot fathom why they think it's a good idea to just be like, oh yeah, mass deportation is cool just to make it a little bit cleaner. A little bit more professional. Exactly. Because nowhere in there is she contending with the idea of mass debertation.

She's actually saying we could do mass deportations better. And it's like they're trying to get this gotcha moment. They're trying to get this rhetorical gotcha that they think will go viral and that will just appeal to the exact right amount of people. And it just doesn't, man. It doesn't work. Nobody likes the shit.
