Thank you very much for taking my call. I have been listening to your show for the past 10 years. I've learned so much with you. I believe that if I am where I am today, because I really followed your advice. I didn't have a lot of structure going up. I always say I raised myself. But then I got a mom and I was in my service and it was Dr. Laura. Thank you. Thank you. What's your name?

What's happening today?

So I, you know, I wish I knew you before, but you know, I really made some mistakes. In the mistakes, mainly that I made it, I think when my first daughter was born, she's 14 now.

I worked my came to this country and I had a job and I did it my best. I had her in daycare. I made sure there was a decent quality place. I mean, a good quality place.

But there wasn't the best that I could have offered to her. I came to learn, you know, later that I was, I thought, I mean, I've had so much time in myself, my education and career, but I wasn't offering the best to my daughter. And that was why I stopped working in my second daughter. I had a home.

And I had been stay home on things and never been easy financially, but I've been my best and, but you know, so today, I'm, you know, we made with my husband that's a father of my daughters for eight to four, 16 years.

I'm known here for for 17 years. And, you know, we do have some ways of a rocky marriage, but I, you know, I really know my power. I have learned a lot with you and I do my best every day.

So my daughter today, you know, shows a lot of times of anxiety. And the other day she was having nightmares. And one of the nightmares is that her dad dies and she has a nightmare all the time.

And then she was just, you know, crying and saying, you know, why might I have those nightmares? It's because he was my husband, he struggled with some addiction, some problems, take a lot of pain medication.

And sometimes we go through phases, depending on what he's dealing with. And then we had a bad month last month. And I think her scene going through that made her.

Let me let me understand something. Your daughter doesn't know why she's having nightmares about her dad dying and her dad's an addict who goes through all kinds of shenanigans with it. That's why she's having.

Well, that's why. So did you answer? It's because your dad is making you scared because he does this stuff. Did you tell her the truth?

Well, but it depends. I mean, I do tell her I didn't ever told her that he takes pain killers.

Okay, madam, you can need to listen carefully. Your daughter is dealing with reality and you're denying reality.

I know. I want to do better.

Don't say I know. Please, I resist listening to people saying I know as though that gave you points.

It gives you no points. It's a matter of fact. It takes away points when you say I know, but you don't do it right.

You need to go into counseling with your daughter and your husband and affirm that her fears about losing her dad because he's a drugie is real.

Are real that her fears are real.

Because right now she's not having an anxiety disorder. She's responding to the truth of your marriage.
