| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the commune podcast. My name is Jeff Krasnow. Okay, so today's episode takes a little left turn. |
| 0:17.4 | I'm going to read an essay that I recently wrote called My Dad's Feet. |
| 0:23.4 | It's about spending the last days of my father's life with him in hospice. |
| 0:29.2 | But before I read it, I just want to express my profound gratitude, |
| 0:35.6 | as so many of you reached out after my dad passed, emails and messages and stories |
| 0:41.9 | of your own experiences with loss. And it just really meant a lot to me more than I can truly |
| 0:48.2 | articulate here. There's something about grief that can feel awfully isolating. |

| 1:47.0 | but that would probably mean avoiding love. |
| 1:51.0 | And that's certainly not a trade I'm willing to make, |
| 1:55.0 | or I think anyone would consciously make. |
| 1:58.0 | So if you've written to me already, thank you. |
| 2:00.0 | And if you feel called to share |
| 2:02.2 | your own experience, their own story of loss or repair, you can reach out to me directly at |
| 2:08.2 | Jeff K. at one commune.com. I read all of those messages, and they really matter. So over the past |
| 2:17.1 | week, my family gathered in Southern Florida |
