With yesterday’s celebration of Father’s Day, I’d like to celebrate the man who was strength for me when I was weak, the model of love he radiated so brilliantly and the reason my family and I are more certain than ever that our Dad really is a superhero. Let me explain.

Growing up, many friends believe that their dad is indeed Superman.

From their youthful perspective, there's just simply nothing dad can't do.

Because he tucked us into bed each night and was oddly already dressed for the day when we got

back up. As far as we could tell, our dads did not require sleep. That's pretty amazing. When a frisbee would

get stuck up in a tree, a ball might go missing under some bushes, or a bike chain might fall off.

We all knew where to turn.

Dad was able to retrieve the frisbee, fetch the ball, fix the chain, save the day. As children age,

though, the pristine cape our dad's once wore begins to vanish. Whether it's the occasional disappointments or just advancing through adolescent years,
