In this podcast, I want to give you my bulletproof coffee hack.

What is bulletproof coffee?

Bulletproof coffee is used when doing keto and intermittent fasting to help you go for a longer period of time without eating. This keto coffee helps because it has fat in it.

Bulletproof coffee is composed of:

 • Coffee

 • Grass-fed butter

 • MCT oil

Bulletproof coffee is great for keto beginners because it will allow you to go longer without eating. It will also give you ketones which will help you keto-adapt faster.

How to make bulletproof coffee (with my special hack):

 • Coffee

 • MCT oil

 • Xylitol

 • 100% cacao

Benefits of cacao:

 • Enhances cognitive function

 • Cardiovascular protection

 • Helps your blood sugars

 • Anti-inflammatory

 • Improves mood

Welcome to the Dr. Berg's Healthy Keto and Interminute Fasting Podcast, where Dr. Berg takes you on the journey for the truth about getting healthy and losing healthy weight. I want to give you my bulletproof coffee hack. Now, Bulletproof Coffee is used when you're on

0:50.0

keto and doing intermittent fasting. Normally people take it in the morning to allow them to go a longer

0:55.2

period of time without eating because it has fat in it. It's composed of coffee, grass-fed butter,

1:02.4

an MCT oil, blend it up. It tastes pretty good. And this is especially good to do when you

1:08.1

start a keto program because it allows you to go a longer period of time

1:13.7

without eating. And because it has MCT oil in it, it will give you more ketones to make this

1:20.1

transition a little faster. Because sometimes when you're starting keto, it might take

1:24.9

three to five days for your body to start making more and more ketones but if you're

1:30.2

taking ketones your brain will get them right away and you have less of a transition phase as in

1:35.6

less keto fatigue or less brain fog but the way that i do bulletproof coffee is slightly different

1:41.8

i do the coffee mccc oil I do add one packet of xylitol.

1:47.9

And yes, it's not zero on the glycemic index. It's 30. So it does influence the blood sugars a

1:54.4

little bit, but because I'm having such a small amount, it's really insignificant. But here's the hack.

2:03.4

I add chocolate to this coffee mixture,

2:11.4

but not the chocolate that has the sugar. It is the unsweetened 100% cacao type chocolate.

2:20.1

Now here's the thing. Because it's super concentrated, I only add a little square of this in the coffee, chop it up, it melts right in there because cacao enhances the cognitive function. It has cardiovascular protection. It helps your

2:27.1

blood sugars. It's anti-inflammatory and it can increase your mood. It also has something called thio bromine, which is similar to caffeine.

2:39.0

Cacao also has a very small amount of caffeine, like 0.1 to 0.7%, which if we compare it to coffee,

2:46.1

coffee has like 1.2%. But this is like 0.1 to 0.7%. Now, what is the difference between cacao and cocoa?
