Summary

From false labor scares and not finding Cam’s heartbeat to sleep training, breastmilk stashes, and granny panties... I’m taking you back to the raw, chaotic, beautiful early days of motherhood. I share what I had no clue about with my first newborn, the help I had with each baby, why I chose to be induced just so I wouldn’t give birth alone, and what I would do differently if I had a baby today. From eczema and night nurses to co-sleeping and Jaxon crawling into my bed every night for four years, we talk about the exhaustion, the guilt, the joy, and the judgment (including mom shaming). I open up about losing my brother the same week I had Saylor, pushing myself way too hard, and all of the things that made those days feel long, even when the months flew by. This episode is real, honest, and a reminder to listen to your gut ALWAYS.

0:24.4

All right. Hi.

0:32.1

Welcome in. I'm excited for today. I feel like today is potentially a long overdue podcast,

0:39.8

one that I'm kind of surprised I haven't talked about yet. This is a question that I get every time I ask you guys, you know, what you want to talk about when I ask my Instagram followers. And I always have

0:45.4

on there, talk about your birthing stories. We want to hear your birthing stories. And I've never

0:51.2

really publicly talked about them, at least in detail. And so that's what we're

0:56.6

going to do today. I'm going to tell you guys about all three of my birthing stories. And those new

1:01.7

days when, you know, the kids were teeny tiny and that whole phase of my life, which feels like

1:08.1

a million years ago now. And I'm just going to get right into it

1:11.0

because I actually do think there's a lot of information here. And because I have three kids,

1:15.8

it's potentially going to be a very long podcast. So settle in. This one's definitely for the

1:20.7

moms or anyone who is wanting to become a mom. You know, hopefully this will be, this will be

1:26.3

exciting. And so it has been a minute since I've

1:28.6

had a newborn baby, so I'm going to have to really jog my memory and go back. So I'm going to start

1:34.3

in order, obviously, starting with Camden, who just turned 13. So this is 13 years ago, guys. Okay,

1:40.9

so cut me a little slack if I can't remember all of the details. But, okay, so Cam,

1:46.2

so I officially moved to Chicago from L.A. when I think I was, I think I was actually like seven

1:54.6

months pregnant with Cam. I didn't like, I mean, I was in Chicago all of the time, obviously,

1:58.8

and, you know, my now ex-husband was living in Chicago.

2:01.9

But I was still in L.A. a decent amount until about seven months being pregnant. And then I made the
