Today I want to share a little bit of my birth experience, my birth story with Sheppard.

This is something that I have kind of kept to myself for the

last several months, almost, let's see, it's been almost eight months now. Mostly because I think I

needed some time to process. I feel like on social media and in our culture nowadays,

there's such a pressure on women to like have a baby

and then share all the gory details,

no gory, that's not a good word,

but all of the details of their birth story in the first like two weeks.

I can't even count the amount of questions that I got of like, what's your birth story?

And I love that we want to hear that because it is a really beautiful miraculous thing to have a baby and to give birth, but at the same time,

it's also a very personal experience, and I just personally didn't feel ready to divulge all of the details.

And I hadn't even really worked through a lot of them. I'll see up front like my birth didn't really go how I planned or how I wanted I tried to keep my plans loose because I knew that could happen but I think like anyone I had hopes for how it would go and it just

didn't quite go exactly how I would have liked and so I think I had to work through

that a little bit and kind of process that myself and you know with my husband and my mom my friends just kind of

work through that privately before sharing some of it publicly but also there

was a lot of beauty and good things and blessings that I experienced in the process, obviously Shepard being the biggest one.

But I thought I would just kind of, now that I've had some time to really sit with it and process my birth myself,

I thought it would be worth sharing, especially as someone

who would say that I'm much more naturally minded.

I share a lot of natural living and holistic lifestyle wellness type stuff and so as someone who was very

educated and informed going into birth and felt very prepared for birth from everything
