We just had our annual Musicians on Musicians' issue.

We're going to be playing some of the conversations from that package. We're going to playing some of the conversations from that package.

We're going to start out with Lil Baby and Lil Wayne.

Lil Baby, of course, is one of the years biggest rappers.

He had that amazing protest song, a bigger picture that helped win him the cover of Rolling Stone on his own earlier this year.

And Lil Wayne really needs no introduction.

They had a great conversation moderated by my colleague Duane Gage. It starts out with

When I listen to anybody I'm listening to lyrics listening and hearing two different things

We hear shit. We might like stuff that we hear but we only love things that we listen to I start listening to the lyrics

I start listening to what the homie was saying.

And then when you're speaking about something so real like that

and figuring out how to make that shit actually go,

go together and sound, the way you make it sound,

make it rhyme, even when it doesn't it rhyme even when it doesn't

rhyme that's when you're discovering something within yourself and you're

discovering that way I am creative enough to do this shit I am more creative

than I think I am I can hear that inside of it when I

listen to it.
