In the age of smartphones and social media, people are able to easily communicate with others across the globe.

Most of the time, the messages sent are standard greetings or politically charged discussions.

Nothing that anyone deserves to go to prison over.

Sometimes, though, the message becomes the main evidence in a horrific crime.

This is Monsters. Anthony Gillia was born on September 6th, 1997 in Jackson, Michigan.

He eventually moved to Cement City just south of Jackson and worked for all-weathered trees as a climber.

He said he enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

Anthony was 19 years old at the time he was hanging out with his girlfriend Amber Seger

and a friend named Ashley

Boardman on November 8th, 2016. Anthony got extremely drunk and he stormed into a house where he fired

multiple rounds. A woman named Brittany Southwell was struck in the side with a bullet which

damaged a lung and ended up killing her.

One of the other occupants of the house called 911 and police quickly tracked down Anthony

and arrested him.

In his interrogation, he is extremely relaxed despite having just committed murder.

I was drinking. I hardly ever drink because I usually working my ass off.

How many hours working a week?

It's hard to say.

Sometimes we work 80 hours, Monday through Sunday, and then sometimes we'll have slow weeks

where my boss has got stuff to do and, you know, well, I don't know.

You get paid well?

Oh yeah.
