In life, we meet people who have a profound effect on us. Coaches, teachers, bosses, they all can become mentors and give us a sense of loyalty. Of course, that can be taken to an extreme and the mentorship can twist into brainwashing. In the woods of Canada, a small group of people would end up so brainwashed that they would do anything for their leader, even when they were asked to dispose of the bodies of those he had killed.

This is Monsters. Rock Terrier was born on May 16, 1947 in Quebec, Canada, a descendant of one of the earliest families to travel to Canada from Western France.

He grew up in Tetford Mines just south of Quebec City.

Though considered intelligent, he attended a local school that only went to grade 7 and never continued on to the nearby high school.

He eventually started working as a carpenter and worked to educate himself to become a self-proclaimed

intellectual.

Later in life, he would be considered a hypochondriac, but he did suffer

medical issues when he was younger. As a teen, he had frequent stabbing pains in his abdomen,

which led to multiple operations to remove ulcers when he was in his early 20s. Eventually,

he would become known for being a notorious crybaby. He would complain about any

little problem, with some saying he can make a case of the sniffles seem like a life-threatening

illness. Rock grew up in a Catholic household, but his father, Yesent, was a member of a group

called the White Berets. They started during the Great Depression with ideas of how to improve the economy.

But the group the Terrios were in turned to religion when they failed in politics

and began preaching anti-Semitic ideas about Jewish bankers trying to control the world.

The family patriarch would make the children wear white berets and they would go door-to-door,

citing prayers and asking for donations.

Rock did not like having to march around begging for handouts, and it's where his distaste for

the Catholic religion began.

Rock would go on to tell people that he was severely abused by his father, but his accounts
