This episode was called Greenville,

we have a problem.

It was all about how Greenville had become

the murder capital of South Carolina back in 1975. Now, even if you don't remember the full episode you probably will at least

remember this part. The next thing I remember about him he was had this motor home and he was telling me about

making this sex machine and he was gonna sell it to the presents. You heard that right? And I said I don't

know if he'll buy that right.

A sex machine.

Hamby planned to sell a sex machine to the women's prisons.

So he had some kind of jigsaw, he made it and made a saddle like a horse saddle.

He had a penis on it and a jigsaw you turn it on the jiggig up and down.

You know?

I still can't listen to that without laughing the night that I edited that I

I think my family thought I was going nuts because I was sitting in my office and

just listening to that part over and over again.

But anyway, it was somewhere about halfway through season one.

I started using a bunch of cold opens,

which is what that is, like that first little anecdote

at the beginning of the show, because it offered up a lot more opportunities for me to tell stories within the podcast.

So it also gave me a chance to sort of introduce myself before the episode began, which is something
