“Created out of necessity,” Lilian says the brand saw a need for snacks that were easy to consume and purchase and were made with only “good stuff.” Today we have Lilian Umurungi-Jung, the Founder and owner of Mumgry, a plant-based snack food company.
Lilian used to work at a tech and gaming company during the time she was pregnant in 2018. She found it frustrating not being able to find the right snack for herself at the grocery store. And in one moment of frustration, she uttered the word, “Mumgry” which she later used as the brand's name.
She experimented with nut butter to create a recipe without sugar, salt, and just plant-based. According to Lilian, the plant-based pantry is growing, and there's still a new world of plant-based foods to explore.
She talks about:
* Gratefulness towards her husband
* Overview of the brand
* Her story behind the word 'Mumgry'
* Transitioning to plant-based
Join Ramon Vela and Lilian Umurungi-Jung as they break down the inside story on The Story of a Brand.
