I miss being in person this week I celebrated four years of sobriety, which thank you, is really weird.

It's really hard to celebrate without being around other alcoholics, at least physically.

I realized when we entered this bizarre alternate reality of AA that I process so many feelings and

emotions around other alcoholics, like in rooms, sharing my experience and talking to folks

afterwards. So it's been a real adjustment of willingness to be perfectly honest to come to these meetings and really try and reach out to people and ask for help. So I'm really glad that all the newcomers are here, welcome everyone from Oregon. I live there for a second. It was a hot mess. I don't remember a lot of it, but

yeah, that's like a lot of my 20s. So I'll pop back really quick. I got sober four days after,

four days after my 22nd birthday. I went to rehab. Um, I came into the rooms recently having,

having drinking away a pregnancy, um, internally bleeding and wanting to die constantly.

So that was my, that was my reality when I got here and that was it felt like a slow and gradual process to

like an undeniable death and so that I know the my truth to be that if I went back out

that's what it would look like I would walk back out to the same circumstances.

And it would only get worse, never better.

Because that's what my drinking was, trying to, as the book says,

trying to moderate, trying to drink natural wines,

trying to like resign if I was ever drunk on the job.

And I did all those things, all of them.

And yeah, I walked into Alcoholics Anonymous, not necessarily willing, but open.
