I was a newcomer in this meeting and I see a couple of my fellow newcomers stick here tonight.

I remember having two weeks, three weeks just being desperate to get 30 days and 60 days

and I think this meeting would do under 90 days and announce yourself, so that was a huge

milestone for me when I made it to 90 days.

I didn't think I would ever make it and I definitely didn't think I would make it to

three and a half years.

I came into the program three and a half years ago.

After literally 30 years of freaking and drugging, I just, I couldn't put my body to take

any more.

I was 44 when I came in doing math and then I started out at a very young age using drugs

and alcohol.

I believe that I grew up in New York and I had a lot of advantages.

I went to private schools and a couple of things about me that set me apart were that I

was adopted and I found out I was adopted when I was five.

And I say that because I've identified with a lot of people in this program because of

that, which many people are like that, either than from a young age.
