Thank you, everyone. My name is Joan L. And I'm a very grateful member of the Worldwide

Fellowship of Al-Anon family groups.

And I'm really honored and privileged to be here tonight.

You know, as Concept 4 says, participation is the key to harmony.

So we in Al-Anon are participating with alcoholics tonight,

and we're sending an Al-Anon speaker.

And when Edna R called me a few months ago

and asked me if I would be your speaker here tonight I said but Edna I spoke at Sini once before

she says boy but your story has changed and we really need to hear you.

So here I be. Thank you, Edna. You know I needed this too.

You know, and I want to thank the scenic convention for having me and asking me and treating me so nicely.

I have a lovely room upstairs. There was a basket of fruit when I arrived today and two bottles of water.

That's very special when you go to hotels today.

They put two bottles of water in your room and then they say there's a $5 charge for each one. But this was very nice and I really

appreciate that. And then when I came down and registered and went back up to my room and I came

back and there was two beautiful dozen of long-stemmed yellow roses in my room on my table

with pussy willow sticking out of it. And I said to my friend Tina,

who accompanied me up here this weekend, I said, oh my God, this must be from my children again,

because no matter where I go, they send me a gift. But it was from a very lovely friend, Jim Darrow,
