You know one of the most interesting intriguing animals in the west is mule there right after

elk that's probably what folks traveling taking a pilgrimage to the west are really interested in it's trying to shoot a big meal there whether it's a big desert deer in Arizona or a high alpine country deer in Western Wyoming. They're just amazing

amazing animals and they inhabit an extreme variety of terrain

which affects their habits and the methods with which you hunt them.

Today I've got a good friend of mine, Colton Heward sitting down with me and now he is a self-confessed

mule deer addict. He's also one of the most accomplished mule

guide and hunters that I personally know. So welcome to the show today for

Now another cool thing about Colton is, he's actually studying to be a gun rider.

Of all things to aspire to be, man, I've tried to steer him straight, but he's stubborn, which is a gunwriter characteristic,

and so he's actually interning with me this summer so we've got to spend some time

together shooting and hand loading and doing photography and so forth he's a relatively

decent human being notwithstanding Notwithstanding his mule addiction.

It gets in the way sometimes.

Yeah, how does that affect your marriage?

Nothing too crazy. Any interesting episodes there?

Nothing too crazy. My wife puts up with me. Putting it mildly.

I've even drugged her along several times and she shot a nice buck last year and she was five months pregnant.
